Paris, 1865. The young Berthe dreams of making a living as a painter, never to marry, and to always stay with her sister Edma. But her parents do not see things this way. Then she meets famous artist Edouard Manet, whose painting Olympia deeply affected her, and he takes an interest in Berthe.
Berthe Morisot is one of the most famous French painter. She's also known for her love story with Edouard Manet which takes too much place in this film. Even if it affects her art, the whole film feels to superficial and inconsistent. I wish it would have shown more work and more how being a woman painter was incredible in the XIXth century.
