La grafia del titolo potrebbe anticipare un cambio di rotta, un Callahan in una dimensione “capovolta”, pronto a lasciare i tratti chiari e realistici del suo songwriting per una svolta più onirica e simbolica.

Bill Callahan, geboren als William Rahr Callahan (Silver Spring , 3 juni 1966), is een Amerikaans singer-songwriter. Hij maakte een tijdlang gebruik van de nom de plume Smog en varianten daarop [3] en sinds het album Woke on a whaleheart (2007) werkt hij onder zijn eigen naam.
Bill Callahan’s career has taken him from a misspent youth as a misanthropic lo-fi troubadour to maturity as a chronicler of American myths. He has sung in riddles, trafficked in obscure symbols, and eventually pulled back the curtain on his life as a husband and father.
