5 giu 2023 · Lady Elspeth Campbell, the wife of former UK Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell, has died at the age of 83. Sir Menzies paid tribute saying she was his constant political companion.

He competed in the 1964 Olympics and the 1966 Commonwealth Games, was captain of the UK athletics team 1965-6 and held the UK 100 metres record from 1967 to 1974. He was awarded the CBE in 1987 and knighted in the 2004 New Year Honours list.
