On April 11, 1970, Apollo 13 took off with astronauts James Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert. The mission took a dire turn when a liquid oxygen tank exploded due to a wiring malfunction.
I read in another thread about Apollo 13 coming out closer to the actual moon landings than it is today and got me curious to any other films that have crossed over this threshold. Even fictional films, like Austin Powers are closer to the time they parody than to today.
