He returned the following year with his solo band which included Rocky Athas, Greg Rzab, and Jay Davenport. Mayall decided he preferred a trio and Athas left the band. Lead guitarist, singer, songwriter Carolyn Wonderland joined the band in 2018.

With his band of Greg Rzab (bass), Jay Davenport (drums) and Carolyn Wonderland (guitar/vocals), John brought the house down for a final time with a fearless rendition of ‘Room To Move’.
1 giorno fa · This one in particular - Crusade - which featured the incredible guitar work of Mick Taylor on songs like "Driving' Sideways" and Snowy Wood". John was a relatively unsung hero who boosted the careers of so many great players. In 2014, I had the singular pleasure of being introduced to him by his fabulous bassist Greg Rzab. I was thrilled.

As an older musician who has been active in the blues for so many years I was amazed to see his energy level so high! SLO Brew was a really intimate venue to see, and record, concerts.
