LBJ was heavily involved in getting Kennedy to come to Texas, he also was inolved in planning the motorcade route and the security personnel. Serveral must-have security protocols were ignored that day, and in the Zapruder film you can see LBJ's team calling back one "rogue" agent who was trying to run alongside Kennedy's car to protect him, as per his training.
