3 giorni fa · The general positivity of the song, with its obvious religious connotations, was in sharp contrast to much of the darker grunge being released in 1993; yet, Collective Soul lucratively kept their sound heavy enough to tap into the huge alt-rock/grunge market of the time while still appealing to a soft-rock listener base — “Shine” being the definitive example of this dichotomy.
