CD帯から。 〈完全無比のテクニックを誇るピアニスト、フィニアス・ニューボーンJr.が、前作『ピアノ・ポートレイツ』に続いて有名スタンダードを華麗に演奏した傑作トリオアルバム。 「A列車で行こう」「浮気はやめた」などのスタンダードナンバーで、卓越したピアノ・テクニックを味わえる〉。 その通りだと思うのだが、レコーディングに4日間も費やしているので、フィニアスの性格そのものが完全無比のような気がする。 プロだから完璧を目指すのは当然としても、ジャズが持っているダイナミズムまでもそぎ落としてしまった感じを受ける。 それにしても、ジャケットは下品としか言いようがない。 1.
