Entry to the School is based upon musical ability and potential, not upon background or ability to pay, thanks to the Government’s Music and Dance Scheme and the School’s own Bursaries.

Our expert specialist teachers, many of whom also teach at the London conservatoires, have considerable experience working with motivated young musicians and will develop individual practise goals and strategies for students.
Students at The Purcell School are characteristically motivated both musically and academically. The key to the success of our curriculum is balance. Depending on a student’s age and instrumental commitments, between 25% and 50% of curricular time is spent on musical activities.
