The Oratory School (/ ˈ ɒ r ə t ɒr i /) is an HMC co-educational private Roman Catholic boarding and day school for pupils aged 11–18 located in Woodcote, 6 miles (9.7 km) north-west of Reading, England.

When the Oratorian Saint John Henry Newman sent priests from his Congregation to open an Oratory in London, they began their mission by opening schools where poor, immigrant Catholic children could get a rudimentary education.
Saint John Henry Newman founded The Oratory School with the intention of providing boys with an alternative to the other Catholic establishments of the day. He had been very influential in the conversion to Catholicism of many formerly Anglican, middle-class, professional men.
