At the time of his death, Melville was no longer well known to the public, but the 1919 centennial of his birth was the starting point of a Melville revival . [1]
As the title suggests, I'm looking for some scholarly writing on Moby-Dick (or Melville more generally) which looks at the role of nature. This can be in any respect, whether it be ecocriticism, nature-philosophy, etc. For one reason or another, I can't seem to find anything, despite this being likely a very rich field. Cheers

Essentially it is the story of Captain Ahab and his obsession with trying to kill the unique white whale, Moby Dick. For Ahab, this whale not only took away half his leg but represents a biblical evil that must be destroyed.
