2 giorni fa · History. 1817–1837. The University of Michigan was established on August 26, 1817, [1] as Catholepistemiad, or University of Michigania, under an act of the Michigan Territory. The corporate existence of the university had its rise in the Act of 1817, and has been continuous throughout all subsequent changes of its organic law.
