Welcome to Eton College, a boarding school for boys aged between 13 and 18. Everyone at Eton works hard to create an exciting, stimulating and caring environment, to enable each boy to reach his full potential. All our boys are also expected to make their own contribution to school life.
School Fees & Extras. The school fee includes tuition, board, lodging, and the cost of most games activities and the majority of educational materials. In addition, boys incur variable extras, e.g. charges for music lessons, optional insurances, boat club membership and school trips.
Our broad curriculum promotes academic excellence, the best habits of independent thought and a lifelong habit of intellectual curiosity and love of learning. Examination results matter. We understand this, and encourage all our boys to aspire to academic excellence.
Eton College was founded in 1440 by Henry VI as “Kynge’s College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore”. Henry wanted his subjects to have the opportunities of gaining knowledge that he had enjoyed, and he made provision for 70 poor boys, known as King’s Scholars, to be housed and educated at Eton free of charge.

We will shortlist boys to be invited to Eton for an assessment in November or December. Admission to Eton at age 16 is possible for a small number of candidates, either through the Orwell Award (for boys in UK state schools) or Sixth Form entry (fee-paying).

We use objects, costume and ephemera to tell the story of life at the school from its foundation in 1440 to the present day. The museum brings to life the experience of learning, playing and living at Eton College across six centuries.
