2 giorni fa · The lordship of Claverdon was granted in Dec. 1547 to John Dudley, Earl of Warwick and afterwards Duke of Northumberland, and Joan his wife. After the execution of the duke the manor was assigned, in June 1554, to his widow Joan for life.
3 giorni fa · John Dudley was executed in 1553 and his estates were forfeited to the Crown. Queen Elizabeth in 1562 granted the manor to his son Ambrose Dudley, Earl of Warwick, who died in 1589 without issue; and two years later the Queen leased it to William Harmon.
