5 giorni fa · In 1664 Sir William Blakeston stated that he had a mortgage of £5,000 at Allerston, which belonged to his father-in-law, but his brother-in-law Thomas Egerton now begged it (Cal. S. P. Dom. 1663–4, p. 653).

In 1601, he secretly married Egerton's pretty young niece, Anne Moor. This resulted in a job loss for Donne and temporary imprisonment in the Tower of London.
