The House of Dun is a National Trust for Scotland property in the parish of Dun, lying close to the edge of Montrose Basin and situated approximately halfway between the towns of Montrose and Brechin, in Angus, Scotland.
The House of Dun and the Dun Estate was home to the Clan Erskine family from 1375 until 1980, but archaeological evidence shows that people have lived here for at least 9,000 years. John Erskine of Dun was a key figure in the Scottish Reformation .

25 ago 2022 · House. Built for David Erskine, 13th Laird of Dun, and designed in the Palladian style by renowned architect William Adam, House of Dun is the perfect example of a Georgian mansion house. Work began in 1730.
The site of the original house, Dun Castle, lies across the Den of Dun to the west of the present house. The castle fell into disrepair and the new house was built between 1727-30, resited to the east to take advantage of the fine views south across the Montrose Basin.
Cared for by the National Trust for Scotland. Designed with Georgian pride and baroque extravagance, House of Dun is every bit the perfect 18th-century laird’s home. Inside, admire the masterful plasterwork, period furniture, embroideries and paintings.
