4 giorni fa · JESUS COLLEGE. History. Nothing is known of the steps which led up to the foundation of the college. The first extant document in its history is the letters patent of foundation issued by Queen Elizabeth on 27 June 1571, at the request of Dr. Hugh Price.

(fn. 268) The rectory was valued at 25½ marks in the early 13th century, rising to 36 marks in 1254 and 40 in 1291.
