Millthorpe School is a mixed secondary school located in York, North Yorkshire, England. It is situated in South Bank, York, and can be accessed via Scarcroft Road (the A59). It is close to two primary schools, Scarcroft Primary School and Knavesmire Primary School.
Millthorpe School provides an excellent education to around one thousand young people from age 11 to 16. As well as strong academic results showing excellent progress by all groups of pupils, Millthorpe provides a rich selection of other experiences outside the classroom, including music, competitive sport, art, Duke of Edinburgh, many clubs ...

We want our school to be a warm and welcoming community where students believe that anything is possible because they are challenged, engaged and excited about learning as a result of their curriculum experiences.
Millthorpe School has a long, proud history, beginning its journey in 1856, and later taking in its first students more than one hundred years ago. What is now the main administrative building for the school used to be called “Nunthorpe Court”, a magnificent Victorian mansion built in 1856.
22 apr 2024 · Following a two-day inspection in March, Millthorpe School, which is part of South Bank Multi Academy Trust, has been praised by inspectors for being an “inclusive community” where “pupils value difference and diversity.”
