Anna Johanna werd op 2 maart 1594 Jul. op Slot Dillenburg geboren als de vierde dochter van graaf Johan VII ‘de Middelste’ van Nassau-Siegen en diens eerste echtgenote, gravin Magdalena van Waldeck-Wildungen. Ze werd op 17 maart Jul. gedoopt in Siegen. Sinds 29 juli 1612 verbleef ze in de adellijke abdijen van Keppel en Herford.
Anne Joanne was born at Dillenburg Castle on 2 March 1594 Jul. as the ninth child and fourth daughter of Count John VII ‘the Middle’ of Nassau-Siegen and his first wife, Countess Magdalene of Waldeck-Wildungen.
