Elisabeth Blochmann ( German: [ˈblɔχman]; 14 April 1892 – 27 January 1972) was a scholar of education, as well as of philosophy, and a pioneer in and researcher of women's education in Germany.
Elisabeth Blochmann is best known as a correspondent of Martin Heidegger. Meanwhile, her life and scholarship have been largely forgotten. This project aims to uncover her story.

Blochmann accepted this post and became a leader for education scientists and pedagogical theorists throughout Germany. She would later be dubbed the ‘First Lady of Academic Pedagogy’ given her influence on the field.5. Despite her eminence in German academia, Blochmann has been forgotten in English scholarship.

I recently began a project exploring the life of Elisabeth Blochmann (1892-1972), an education scholar who taught German literature at the University of Oxford from 1933 to 1952.
