Parlet was a female spinoff group from P-Funk formed by veteran background vocalists Mallia Franklin, Jeanette Washington and Debbie Wright. Washington and Wright were the first female members in Parliament-Funkadelic in 1975.
Debbie Wright (June 18, 1951 – October 12, 2017) was an American funk vocalist best known as a member of the band Parliament. Biography. Wright was born in Detroit, Michigan. It has been stated that Wright began her early career as an uncredited session singer for The Parliaments.

Followers of the Clinton/P Funk/Funkadelic circus will recognize Debbie as a member of Parlet, the collective’s girl group. With Mallia Franklin and Jeanette Washington, Debbie joined P Funk in 1975, morphing into Parlet in 1978.
