Sophie Liebknecht ( née Sophie Ryss; 18 January 1884 – 11 November 1964) was a Russian -born German socialist and feminist. She was the second wife of Karl Liebknecht, who had three children from his first marriage to Julia Liebknecht.
Sophie (Sonja) Borissowna Liebknecht (geborene Ryss, * 18. Januar 1884 in Rostow am Don; † 11. November 1964 in Moskau) war Sozialistin, Kunsthistorikerin und Feministin. Sie war die zweite Ehefrau von Karl Liebknecht nach Julia Liebknecht und eine enge Freundin Rosa Luxemburgs .
These letters are personal rather than political and in 1923, all the proceeds went to the support of Liebknecht’s widow and children. A few of the letters were republished in a new English translation in 1998 by Humanities Press in The Letters of Rosa Luxemburg, edited by Bronner.
