Francis of Denmark (15 July 1497 – 1 April 1511), was a prince of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, the youngest son of King John of Denmark and Christina of Saxony. He died of the plague at the age of 13.
He was named Frederik after his maternal grandfather, King Frederik IX, continuing the Danish royal tradition of the heir apparent being named either Frederik or Christian. He became Crown Prince of Denmark when his mother ascended to the throne as Margrethe II on 14 January 1972.
