The ninth season of Jet Lag: The Game, Hide + Seek, was teased on January 17, 2024 after the finale of Arctic Escape. The season takes place in Switzerland and is a 3-person round robin game, similar to Tag Across Europe 1 and Tag Across Europe 2. It premiered on February 28, 2024.
The season started filming a few weeks before Christmas, on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 08:30 AM (CET) and ended on Thursday, December 14, 2023 05:30 PM (CET).
In this season, rather than completing challenges, the seekers have a list of 76 questions in 5 categories they can ask to the hider, the categories being Relative (which compares some element of the seekers to the hider), Radar (which checks if the hider is within a radius of the seekers), Photos (which requires the hider to send a photo of choosing), Oddball (which requires the hider to do something that may reveal incidental information), and Precision (which lets seekers narrow down exactly where the hider is). The seekers only can use maps and cannot use street views.
In return for the seekers asking questions, the hider receives coins depending on which category the seekers choose (Relative gives 40 coins, Radar gives 30 coins, Photos gives 15 coins, both Oddball and Precision gives 10 coins). Hiders can purchase curse dice 50 coins apiece. Depending on which number you get, the hider gets a curse based on how high the hider rolls. There are up to 5 dice at a time.
Once the seekers are in the hiders zone, the hiders cannot do any Photos and Oddball questions if the seekers request for it and must inform the seekers that they have entered their hiding zone.
The hiding zone is a circle with a radius of 0.50 miles (0.804 Km) with the center being where the hider is at when the 2.5 hour time is up. The hiding zone must also include a train station. The hider cannot exit their hiding zone until they are caught by the seekers, this also means that some photo requests are impossible for them to complete depending on what photo request the seekers chose.
