Out of Our Idiot is a compilation album by English musician Elvis Costello, released in 1987 through Demon Records in the United Kingdom. It is composed of rare and previously unreleased Costello recordings dating back to 1979. It was only available as an import in the USA and other markets.

The 3 note intro and the fade out are still there. " Black Sails In The Sunset " is aprox. 13 secs. longer than the version on the re-issue of Trust . This is the only release of the track " Little Goody Two Shoes " (early version of " Inch By Inch ").

This 1987 collection is an intriguing stockpile of rarities Costello recorded over the previous eight years. There’s a frantic ska-tinged duet with Jimmy Cliff (“Seven Day Weekend”) and a rousing country chug-along with T-Bone Burnett (“The People’s Limousine”).
