Part of the ambition here is in watching a film that's so smart it's practically experimental when compared to the average sci-fi fare.
Following his father’s death, Ethan recedes into his basement laboratory to complete his R10 machine, an invention designed to go beyond recording memories, as his father’s machine did, and push the limits of brain capture to their zenith – true consciousness control.
