The Greenbrier Military School was a boys-only, private, military, boarding high school and Junior College, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia. The school was founded in 1812 and closed in 1972, [1] when the campus was converted into the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine .

The boy's school, which became known as the Greenbrier Military Academy, prospered and grew in size and stature, attracting students from near and far. In the late 1800s, fire destroyed the school building and classes were carried on in a private residence.
GREENBRIER MILITARY SCHOOL 1875-1972 Louise Rawl Haberfeld Greenbrier Military School (GMS) was a respected boys’ military boarding school for two-thirds of the twentieth century. From 1910 until it closed in 1972, it bore the imprint of the Moore family of Lewisburg.
