21 lug 2023 · ‘Unknown Summer’ makes for one of Burial’s brighter soundscapes, a light and airy partner to Kode9’s beat and sample-smithery, with angular synths, mirage-like vocals, and lowkey, sandy beats wafting in the heat haze.
A fun lil A/B release from UK garage/dubstep legends Kode9 and Burial. I must say that I expected a bit more from Burial - "Unknown Summer" is cool but nothing mind-blowing. On the other hand, "Infirmary" is a fast-paced, skittering track that features jazzy sampling and some great drum/bass programming.
