Joseph Arthur Sealy (born 16 August 1939) is a Canadian jazz musician. He was awarded the Order of Canada in 2010. [1][2] Awards. Juno Awards of 1982 - Nominee for Best Jazz Album - Clear Vision. Juno Awards of 1995 - Nominee for Best Contemporary Jazz Album - Joe Sealy & Paul Novotny Dual Vision.

Joe Sealy. Biography. JOSEPH (JOE) SEALY (pianist, organist, composer) was born on August 16, 1939 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His early piano studies were with Oscar Peterson’s sister Daisy Peterson Sweeney and Bob Langlois in Montreal, and later with Darwyn Aitken in Toronto.
Joe Sealy has enjoyed a highly successful career as a musician, composer, recording artist and radio broadcaster. His 1997 Juno Award winning Africville Suite inspired Ron Foley MacDonald of The Halifax Daily News to write; “This may be the most important jazz album released in Canada this year”.
