Monument of Metal is a 2011 compilation album by Canadian heavy metal band Anvil. [1] Album artwork. The artwork for this compilation album features an enormous statue of an anvil in a park courtyard bordered with Canadian flags. Inside the courtyard can be seen tiny silhouettes of people, which helps give the actual monument its scale.
The band released a new greatest hits album Monument of Metal: The Very Best of Anvil. Anvil also started re-releasing their old material, starting with Strength of Steel , Pound For Pound , and Worth the Weight later that same year.
Monument of Metal is a 19-song anthology that spans the band's 30-year career, featuring songs from Hard 'N' Heavy all the way through their latest, Juggernaut of Justice. The albums Metal On Metal and This Is Thirteen get the most coverage in this collection, with 7 of the 19 songs.

Monument of Metal is the second of Anvil's major compilations, and about the best I can say for it is that it's a fraction less worthless than its predecessor Anthology of Anvil.
