“Avatars of love” è uno dei tanti dischi scritti e realizzati durante il lockdown e che, in particolare, hanno visto Lerche tornare nella sua nativa Bergen dopo quindici anni vissuti negli USA. Sono 14 canzoni molto diverse tra loro in cui confluiscono le varie anime musicali di Sondre Lerche (che peraltro presenterà il disco dal vivo al Biko di Milano il 19 aprile): c'è il classico girovagare tra i generi tipico dei suoi album dalla bossanova un po' giapponese di “My love still waits”, agli anni 80 creativi di Scritti Politti e Prefab Sp...
È un disco che parla d'amore in tutte le sue forme e rappresentazioni romantiche, tragiche ma anche leggere.
