The Indescribable Wow is the fifth studio album from American singer and songwriter Sam Phillips. It is her first album for Virgin Records and her first album she released after moving from Christian pop to secular alternative rock and using the name Sam rather than Leslie.

In 1989, Phillips married producer and musician T-Bone Burnett. They have a daughter, Simone, born on December 30, 1997, who is also a singer-songwriter, has recorded and performed as Simone Istwa and, since 2023, as Dagger Polyester. Phillips and Burnett divorced in 2004; both have since remarried, Phillips to Eric Gorfain.
9 lug 2021 · For her first pop album T-Bone Burnett came on board to produce and the result is probably the best cross over album of any artist. It is no surprise to my regular readers that I am a huge T-Bone fan and this album is one of those reasons.
