Anna Tuthill Harrison (née Symmes; July 25, 1775 – February 25, 1864) was the first lady of the United States in 1841 as the wife of President William Henry Harrison. She served in the role for only one month, as her husband contracted pneumonia and died shortly after his term began.

Absent from the White House during the briefest of all presidencies, Anna Harrison’s life as a national figure took place during the quarter of a century she lived as a presidential widow. She was the first presidential widow to be awarded a pension by Congress– a lump sum of $25,000.
