Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is the oldest outdoor group in the United States. Created in 1876 to explore and preserve the White Mountains in New Hampshire , it has expanded throughout the northeastern U.S., with 12 chapters stretching from Maine to Washington, D.C.
The mission of the Appalachian Mountain Club is to foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. Since 1876 we have been working to protect the mountains, forests, waters, and trails you love in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) offers hiking, biking, paddling, and lodging options in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic states. You can also join guided or custom-guided trips to domestic and international destinations with AMC expertise.
