James Joshua Whiting (born December 16, 1949), known professionally as Sugar Blue, is an American blues harmonica player. He is best known for playing on the 1978 Rolling Stones album Some Girls, and well as his partnership with blues guitarist Louisiana Red.

Blue performs his own version of the song on his 1993 Alligator debut Blue Blazes. With his second release In Your Eyes, Sugar Blue emerges as a singularly profound songwriter as well as a harmonica wizard.
In Your Eyes qualifies as a truly modern Blues masterpiece, although such an album seems impossible. Blue wasn't content to just blow circles around every other harp player on the scene, he'd already done that on Blue Blazes.
