  3. Lee "Scratch" Perry OD (born Rainford Hugh Perry; 20 March 1936 – 29 August 2021) was a Jamaican record producer, composer and singer noted for his innovative studio techniques and production style.

  4. 3 set 2021 · He started at the studio as an assistant and eventually got a chance to sing on tracks like “Chicken Scratch,” the dance tune that earned him his nickname. “Simmer Down,” the Wailers’ first big ska number for Studio One, was a favorite on Coxsone’s Downbeat sound system and became popular in England as well.
