The Historia Brittonum, ch. 57 (EHD, 1, 2), reports that Oswiu had had a Celtic wife, Riemmelth or Rhiainfellt, granddaughter of Rhun map Urbgen, before he married Eanflaed. It is possible that Alhfrith was her son.

Rhiainfellt f Medieval Welsh Derived from Welsh rhiain "maiden" (originally "queen" from Celtic *r-gan-) and mellt "lightning". Rhiainfellt or Rhieinfellt was the name of a great-granddaughter of Urien Rheged who became the wife of the 7th-century Anglo-Saxon king Oswy of Northumbria.
