Throughout this dozen-and-a-half, Powell plays a commanding fiddle and clawhammer banjo with equal aplomb. He drives his way with a spirited lack of restraint through festive fiddle melodies. On the quieter banjo tunes, Powell evokes cavernous feelings of introspectiveness.
