Henri Decoin est un écrivain, scénariste et réalisateur français, né le 18 mars 1890 à Paris 4 e et mort le 4 juillet 1969 à Neuilly-sur-Seine. Dans sa jeunesse, il a été un nageur sportif et joueur de water-polo réputé, de niveau national et international.
Henri Decoin (18 March 1890 – 4 July 1969) was a French film director and screenwriter, who directed more than 50 films between 1933 and 1964. He was also a swimmer who won the national title in 1911 and held the national record in the 500 m freestyle.

Olympian Henri Decoin made appearances at the 1908 and 1912 editions of the Summer Games as a swimmer, but earned a name for himself later in life as a film director and screenwriter in France.
Partly due to the uneven quality of his work, Henri Decoin remained an overlooked director. Born in 1890, he was a sports correspondent, a novelist, Gallone's assistant, and a screenwriter, As a director, some of his films noirs are simply stellar and deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those of Clouzot and Duvivier.
