Il titolo originale della canzone era Frankie Teardrop, the Detective Meets the Space Alien, ma Vega trasformò il racconto quando lesse su un giornale la notizia di un ragazzo che, rimasto disoccupato, si era suicidato dopo avere ucciso moglie e figlio.
