We then became The Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School.

  6. From 1889 to 2014 Tankerville Terrace was home to the girls of Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School and, while the pupils and staff that defined the school have left, the Church High School spirit very much lives on in its red bricks, albeit under a slightly different name.

Founded in 1872, and 1876 respectively, both were established to offer girls an exceptional education and to ensure girls and young women could have an equal place in the world.
