Church High closed its doors administratively for the last time in July 2014 when it was merged with neighbouring Central Newcastle High School. As with grafted plants, the green Church High sap continues to course through the veins of Newcastle High School for Girls, where NCHS Alumnae meet annually every June.
Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School (also known locally as "Church High") was a private day school for girls in Jesmond, less than a mile north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Until 2014 it was the oldest continuously operating girls' school established in the city.

27 gen 2018 · Newcastle High School is only briefly mentioned by Ms. Bell, hardly surprising as the School took steps to Decentralize from London as early as 1909 before becoming a self-governing Independent Church School in 1925, when ‘Church’ was added to the school’s name. We then became The Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School.

From 1889 to 2014 Tankerville Terrace was home to the girls of Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School and, while the pupils and staff that defined the school have left, the Church High School spirit very much lives on in its red bricks, albeit under a slightly different name.
In September 2014, Church High School and Central Newcastle High School merged to become Newcastle High School for Girls. Founded in 1872, and 1876 respectively, both were established to offer girls an exceptional education and to ensure girls and young women could have an equal place in the world.
