History of Cleveland Central Catholic - Cleveland Central Catholic High School. 6550 Baxter Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44105 | PH: 216.441.4700. The history of Cleveland Central Catholic dates to 1881, when two of its four “founding” schools were created – St. Stanislaus and St. Michael the Archangel.
A Tradition of Excellence in Catholic Education. St. Michael School was organized in the 1870’s, 19 years after the founding of the parish. In 1908, the Sisters of Notre Dame were asked to staff the school.
An architecturally notable school adjacent to the church began construction in 1906 and was completed in 1907. For many years the church was one of the most costly and artistically notable churches in the Cleveland Diocese. References
