Patel in October 1947. Maniben Patel (3 April 1903 — 26 March 1990) was an Indian independence movement activist and a Member of the Indian parliament. She was the daughter of freedom fighter and post-Independence Indian leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
28 mar 2023 · Sardar Patel had a daughter and her name was Maniben, she kept a diary. Interestingly, Maniben mentions in her diary that Sardar had one common goal with Savarkar. They differed on several issues but both of them wanted the ‘‘four crore Muslims in India to be loyal to the country; otherwise there was no place for them (August 16, 1949).’’.
12 ago 2017 · Under the stewardship of Mahatma Gandhi, Maniben actively participated in the Non-Cooperation Movement as well as the Salt Satyagraha. She was jailed several times for her role in the freedom movement. She was arrested during Quit India movement and was lodged in Pune’s Yerwada Jail from 1942 to 1945.

Educated in Mumbai, Maniben adopted the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in 1918, and started working regularly at his ashram in Ahmedabad.

Maniben took notes of all the day-to-day activities of her father in a diary. Maniben's diary gives many insightful information about the freedom fighter.
