The Cherwell School, based in Oxford, is a co-educational state school for students aged from 11 to 18.
The Cherwell School is a secondary school with academy status on the Marston Ferry Road in Oxford, England. The current school site was built in 1963 as a secondary modern school, later becoming the main comprehensive school for North Oxford, with a catchment area extending down to the city centre, Grandpont, and New Hinksey.
The Cherwell School in Oxford, King Alfred’s Academy in Wantage and Frank Wise Special School in Banbury have formed a multi-Teaching School Alliance, supported by 19 other ‘outstanding’ and ‘good’ primary and secondary schools across the county.
The Cherwell School is an academy which is part of The River Learning Trust, as such it is its own admissions authority. The River Learning Trust has delegated the responsibility for admission arrangements to the Local Authority for Year Groups 7 to 11.
