The Sylvia Young Theatre School is non-denominational and co-educational. Our students range from 10 to 16 years of age. We are a small school of around 250 students and value our ‘family atmosphere'.
The Sylvia Young Theatre School was founded in 1972 with part-time classes in East London. It was established as a full-time school in 1981 on Drury Lane, but due to expansion it moved to a former 1880’s church school building in Rossmore Road, Marylebone in 1983. Our musical theatre courses offer a truly hectic week of rehearsals in preparation for a studio-style workshop performance on Saturday to which parents are invited. Students must be fluent in both reading and spoken English.
