2 feb 2003 · First thread on him. I only recently discovered his work with the band LOVE (Arthur Lee). He's on a couple albums circa 1969. Here's a standout song from the LP "Four Sail". Dig the bass tone. I thought maybe a Maestro Brassmaster, but, I believe it's just good old fashioned overdrive. www.larryrott.com/1/LOVE_August_1969_Four_Sail.mp3.

This lineup played in a blues rock style, as opposed to the folk-rock and psychedelic styles of the band's previous incarnation.

1 ago 2004 · Lee had jettisoned the old gang and hooked up with a hard-edged but lithe power trio: George Suranovich (drums), Frank Fayad (bass) and Jay Donnellan (guitar). The album lacked the hard rocking edge of the first two Love albums, and the atmospherics of its predecessor.
