John Marshall Clemens (August 11, 1798 – March 24, 1847) was the father of author Mark Twain and of journalist and politician Orion Clemens, who was the first and only Secretary of the Nevada Territory.

2 dic 2020 · John Marshall Clemens was born in Campbell County, Virginia. He was a lawyer and later a justice of the peace in Hannibal. Because it was difficult on the frontier to make a living as a lawyer, John Clemens also ran a dry goods store and invested in property.
