Clarence White (born Clarence Joseph LeBlanc; June 7, 1944 – July 15, 1973) was an American bluegrass and country guitarist and singer. He is best known as a member of the bluegrass ensemble the Kentucky Colonels and the rock band the Byrds, as well as for being a pioneer of the musical genre of country rock during the late 1960s.
Roland White carries on today, 36 years later, trying to extend the legacy of California’s foremost bluegrass family. Included in his more than 50 years as a professional are 10 years with the Kentucky Colonels, two with Bill Monroe & the Blue Grass Boys, four with Lester Flatt & the Nashville Grass, 13 with the Country Gazette and 11 with the Nashville Bluegrass Band.
