Il Pontificio Collegio Scozzese fu istituito nel 1600 da papa Clemente VIII per la formazione dei sacerdoti scozzesi nel tentativo di mantenere il cattolicesimo in Scozia. A esso furono assegnati i ricavi del vecchio ospizio degli scozzesi che vennero accresciuti dalla munificenza del pontefice e di altri benefattori.
The Pontifical Scots College (Italian: Il Pontificio Collegio Scozzese) in Rome is the main seminary for the training of men for the priesthood from the dioceses of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland. It was established by a bull of Pope Clement VIII on 5 December 1600.
