EKWC is an international artist-in-residence and research centre for ceramics. For over 50 years, artists, designers and architects from all over the world have worked here to experiment with clay. The experiments result in both special works of art and technical innovations.
EKWC is een internationale artist-in-residence en research centre voor keramiek. Al meer dan 50 jaar worden hier, van over de hele wereld, kunstenaars, designers en architecten ontvangen om te experimenteren met klei. Dit levert zowel bijzondere kunstwerken op, als technische innovaties. De resultaten zijn te zien in musea van New York tot Tokyo.
EKWC European Ceramic Workcentre. EKWC annually welcomes around 60 artists, designers, architects, and other professionals for a period of three months. EKWC offers studios, workplaces, living space, the most advanced equipment, and the support of its experienced staff. In 2024 a soundlab is available.
Due to new, international ambitions, the name changed to EKWC (European Ceramic Work Centre). Thanks to 11 studios spread over two floors, 45 artists-in-residence could be welcomed per year. The mix of facilities, knowledge and contacts offer career opportunities.
6 mar 2022 · European Ceramic Work Center. EKWC's mission is to further develop the material ceramics and to promote its application in art, design, and architecture. The center is located in the former dyeing and tannery of the Royal United Leather Factory in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands.
